Volunteer Services
The Volunteer Services Department, a part of Broward County Public Schools Parents, Business and Community Partnerships Department, provides district-wide support and coordination to District schools in order to build strong partnerships with family, business, community and government at the classroom, school, area and district level.
We are responsible for:
- Developing and disseminating volunteer program materials, including annual applications
- Presenting an array of training workshops for program coordinators and volunteers
- Coordinating and implementing Broward’s distinctive volunteer programs, including Meet the Masters, Math SuperStars, I’m Thumbody, and the Stars for Children
- Cooperating with the Florida Department of Education’s Bureau of Family and Community Involvement on all State volunteer award programs
- Organizing District-wide recognition events
- Recruiting volunteers from the community
- Networking with community-based volunteer programs
- Organizing District-wide recognition events
