The Get Real Mentor Program targets middle school girls whose needs are prioritized based on risk factors that have been identified by teachers, guidance counselors and other school personnel. Girls may be at risk of dropping out of school, becoming involved in gangs and/or becoming pregnant during their teenaged years. Girls demonstrating below grade level reading and language skills are also prioritized for program participation. This program is not like your average troop setting but if you are interested in reaching out to these girls who are already facing challenges and conflicts and can commit to a 90 minute session every other week, Girl Scouts of Broward would like to hear from you.
