ACCLAIM Awards

Nominations for the 2012 ACCLAIM Award are now closed.

Principals and Assistant Principals set the tone for their schools – and in Broward County, our school leaders set the standard for others to follow. To honor them for their excellence and outstanding commitment to education, the School Board created the ACCLAIM Award. The award seeks to recognize school leaders who excel in the following areas: Achievement, Communication, Compassion, Leadership, Accountability, Innovation and Motivation.

To be eligible for the Broward Principal of the Year, an individual:

• has been a principal for a minimum of 3 years;
• has served his/her school for the entire school year for which they are being nominated;
• received “meets” or “exceeds” on performance ratings as a principal;
• is in good standing in the school system.

To be eligible for the Broward Assistant Principal of the Year, an individual:

• has been an assistant principal for a minimum of 2 years;
• has served his/her school for the entire school year for which they are being nominated;
• received “meets” or “exceeds” on performance ratings as an assistant principal;
• is in good standing in the school system.

The Broward Principal of the Year 2012 and Broward Assistant Principal of the Year 2012 will be announced at a recognition event on Thursday, March 1, 2012.
